The Jewish Federation of Rockland County

The Jewish Federation of Rockland County is one place in the community that every Jew can call home, no matter their affiliation. It is the heart and soul of the Jewish community, raising money to support local programs, services and organizations.

Locally we support our JCC, where programs serve everyone from infants to seniors. Our Jewish Family Service provides counseling and special needs support, while the Holocaust Museum and Study Center reminds us why we are to never forget ? and why teaching tolerance to a new generation is so important. Funds to our local day schools provide scholarship, while The Rockland Jewish Reporter, which we publish 13 times a year, helps connect us all through engaging local stories.

Through our overseas partners, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Joint Distribution Committee, the Jewish Federation provides services in Israel and overseas, wherever there are Jews in need. Whether supporting programs like the Ethiopian National Project, which has staunched a high dropout rate among Ethiopian immigrants in Israel, encouraging them to get higher degrees, or providing food assistance to elderly residents in the former Soviet Union, or raising funds for the people of Haiti after a devastating earthquake, we hear the voices of those in need.

It is a Jewish value to engage actively in tikkun olam, or repairing the world. This is our mission. As a member of Jewish Federations of North America, we are part of a network of 157 Jewish federations across the continent. We are able to mobilize quickly and respond to needs wherever they might be, at home, in Israel or around the globe.

Live generously. One gift does a world of good.
