Leket Israel and Kfar Silver address critical issues - food insecurity and socializing youth from difficult circumstances. Since October 7th, Leket’s work has been more important than ever. Kfar Silver was forced to evacuate in the first few days of the conflict, as it is near Gaza and incursions in the Sderot area threatened it while it was also under fire from hundreds of rockets. It has since been able to bring its students back, providing them with a stable educational and social environment to prepare them (including dozens of refugees from Ukraine) for a productive future in Israel.
 

In the coming year, leveraging our new allocations process, Federation is looking at funding additional or alternative beneficiaries providing vital support to vulnerable elements of Israeli society. One particular sector Federation is keen to support is in the area of trauma and supporting victims of sexual violence, through organizations such as the Israel Trauma Coalition and the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel (both of whom are already receiving support through our emergency appeal).
