Judge Ruchie Freier: First Female Chassidic Judge in the USA, Founder of Female Ambulance Corp
Judge. Ruchie Freier is a New York City Criminal Court Judge, the first Chassidic Jewish Woman to be elected as a civil court judge in NYS & the first Chassidic women to hold a U.S. public office. She personifies strong leadership without compromising her Jewish values. In 2017, Freier was chosen by the Jerusalem Post as #40 of the “50 most influential Jews” in the world. In December 2017, Megyn Kelly welcomed Freier on The Today Show as the woman The NY Times has called “the Hassidic superwoman of night court.” She was featured in the series, “She’s Got Faith.” Freier’s judgeship was selected by Kings County Politics as one of the “top 10 Stories” among political events in New York City in 2016. She was also listed by City & State Magazine as one of the “Winners” among politicians of NYS that year. Judge Freier is featured on the PBS documentary, “93Queen.”
In addition to being a judge, mother & grandmother, Judge Freier also founded Ezras Noshim, an all female ambulance corp.
