Adult Education

The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County offers courses in a number of areas of adult education. Included are the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and Midreshet Rockland, as well as special one-time programs, such as Global Day of Jewish Learning.

The Melton Core Curriculum is a comprehensive series of text-based lessons, studied over two years. We offer the Melton Scholars Curriculum as well, which focuses on a deeper examination of selected Jewish texts, from the Biblical to the modern.

The next semester will start in February, 2020

Midreshet is taught by expert Jewish educators, including Rockland County rabbis and other educators. While these “graduate” classes are designed for those who have some basic Jewish education, they are open to everyone and are offered year-round.

Most Midreshet classes are on Wednesdays and on Thursdays October 23 - January 30 (no class 11/27-28, 12/25-26, 1/1-2)

Global Day of Jewish Learning is held each year on one Sunday in November, 500+ communities around the world come together to learn together. This year’s theme is Speaking Volumes. Global Day will be held Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Rockland Jewish Community Campus, 450 W. Nyack Rd, W. Nyack, 9:30 am-12:45 pm.
