Adult Education

The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County offers courses in a number of areas of adult education. Included are the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and Midreshet Rockland.

The Melton Core Curriculum is a comprehensive series of text-based lessons, studied over two years. We offer the Melton Scholars Curriculum as well, which focuses on a deeper examination of selected Jewish texts, from the Biblical to the modern. Wrestling with Faith: from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute, Wrestling with Faith, a new six-week course. Classes begin February 20. Wrestling with Faith comes to Federation from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute will provide participants an opportunity to identify and process the intellectual and emotional discomforts they may have with believing in and/or accepting G-d and face them head-on.

The course hopes to inspire students to find resolutions and answers, and re-embrace their heritage and their Creator armed with solid knowledge and genuine appreciation. It will make arriving at resolutions all the more rewarding.

All classes take place in the Federation wing of the Rockland Jewish Community Campus.
