PJ Library Receives Grant, Expands Program in Rockland

The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) recently awarded a grant to the Jewish Federation of Rockland, to further support the PJ Library program in Rockland County.

Rockland’s PJ Library program will now be able to provide free Jewish books and music to children ages 6 months to 6-1/2 years, thanks to the Alliance Subscription Grant from HGF. Before receiving the grant, the PJ Library program in Rockland supported children ages 6 months to five years.

PJ Library (PJ for “pajamas”) provides families with the gift of free, high-quality children's books, music, and other resources on a monthly basis, that foster Jewish learning and create a gateway for deeper engagement in Jewish life. PJ Library is currently active in more than 165 communities across North America.

"I am excited that the PJ Library of Rockland County has been approved for the Alliance Subscription Grant,” says Lara Epstein, Director of Community Outreach and Engagement for the Jewish Federation of Rockland. “We are pleased to be able to expand the ages of our current PJ Library recipients and provide even more children in the community with the wonderful gift of free Jewish books and music."

Rockland families are encouraged to register online to participate in PJ Library, and children who aged out after turning 5 years old are encouraged to re-apply and continue the program until age 6-1/2.
